April 2014 – END OF MICROSOFT SUPPORT FOR WINDOWS XP
Don’t let your PC go unprotected
What is Windows XP end of support?
Microsoft has provided support for its Windows XP operating system for the past 12 years, but from April 8 2014, this will no longer be available, including the regular Automatic Updates, most notably the security updates, which are vital in protecting your PC.
If you continue to use Windows XP after this date, your computer will still function but it is likely to become extremely vulnerable to the potentially significant increase in security risk. In addition, there will be increasing compatibility issues as other software and hardware vendors withdraw support for XP.
How do I stay protected?
1. Upgrade your PC/laptop
Unfortunately, few older computers will be able to run – or be worth upgrading to – the later versions of Windows, but some can and will.
We recommend that you call us to discuss your existing computer/s and future needs, and how we can help you through this upgrade process.
2. Buy a new PC/laptop
If your current PC is unable to run – or not worth upgrading to – a more recent version of Windows, then you should consider buying a new one.
Please talk to us regarding purchasing and moving over to a new PC.
